What is the Mahj Life Instructor Guild?
The Mahj Life Instructor Guild is a nationwide community of American Mahjong instructors who are passionate about teaching the game the right way — using official National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules and best practices. The Guild was created to bring together teachers who value both expertise and connection.
Members of the Guild receive ongoing education, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities designed to help instructors continually improve their teaching skills and stay up to date on all NMJL standards. It’s not just about playing Mahjong — it’s about creating consistent, high-quality learning experiences for students across the country.

As Mahji Mentors, we serve as brand ambassadors and trusted guides for new and experienced players alike. Mentors help grow the game by hosting lessons, sharing educational content, and promoting inclusive, welcoming play environments that honor the traditions of American Mahjong while making it accessible to a new generation.
