Before You Book
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Nothing at all. We provide all the tiles, racks, mats, and cards. Just bring yourself.
What is the class size?
We keep Mahjong 101 to a maximum of 12 students so everyone gets real table time and individual attention.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, and we encourage it. Learning alongside someone you know makes it much easier to practice afterward. Just make sure you both register.
Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?
Nothing is required. We start from scratch and cover everything in class. You do not need to look anything up ahead of time.
What if I get confused or miss something during class?
We build time for questions into every class and move at a pace that works for the group. After class, you will have lifetime access to our class materials so you can review anything you want to revisit.
What comes after Mahjong 101?
Most students move on to Mahjong 102 once they have played a few games on their own. We also have free resources through the Mockingbird & Magnolia Community to keep you practicing between classes.
Can I book a private class for my group instead?
Yes. Use the private class inquiry form on this page and we will put together a custom proposal for your group, including pricing, format, and available dates.
