Free Cheat Sheet · 2026 NMJL Card
Know your escape route before you need it.
Most players pick a hand in the Charleston, commit, and hope the tiles cooperate. And when they don't, somewhere around the fourth or fifth exchange, they're stuck. The hand isn't coming together, but they've held too long to start over cleanly.
The 2026 NMJL card has a hidden safety net built into it. We have put together our 8 favorite pivot hands on the 2026 card that share 11 or 12 tiles in common. That means if you're building one of them and the tiles stop cooperating, you're not starting over. You're pivoting — and you're doing it from a position of strength.
These pivot hands cut across categories: Consecutive Run to 13579, 2468 to Any Like Numbers, Quints to CR. Knowing them changes how you hold, how you evaluate your rack mid-game, and how quickly you can adjust when your first plan falls apart.
